Blia Vang

Attorney

Blia received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in History. It was during an education law class that her true passion revealed itself. Blia heard about the intricacies of the education law field and some real life cases from an attorney’s own history. She was immediately intrigued by the possibility of working in such a dynamic field where she would have the opportunity to make a positive change. Just like her original journey to become a teacher, Blia saw the law field as a way to touch the lives of numerous individuals. It is her view that the legal system deals with areas that touch everyone from personal injury, elderly law, education law and beyond. Blia attended the University of Wisconsin Law School, earning her Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2005.

During her education, she was able to work for the National Labor Board and the Federal Aviation Administration during a summer internship in Washington, DC. She also worked for the Wisconsin Domestic Violence Coalition, focusing in immigration cases, where she oversaw funding for battered women seeking citizenship while escaping their abusive spouse. Additionally, she also served as a clerk for the Dane County Circuit Court during her law school education. After graduation, she took a job with Recka and Joannes Law Firm in Greenbay, Wisconsin, serving as an associate with concentration in bankruptcy, personal injury and family law for several years. In October 2009 she would follow her heart and open BV Law Firm, in Hickory, North Carolina, where she practices personal injury, worker’s compensation, social security disability, bankruptcy, criminal, and traffic matters. Blia is licensed in both Wisconsin and North Carolina.
